Linda's Background
I was born and raised in an English district of Montreal, called Beaconsfield. When I was 19, I finished attending John Abbott College (CEGEP) and moved to Calgary. I loved living in Calgary and miss it even to this day. I completed a Bachelor of Commerce Degree at the University of Calgary and commenced the beginning of my Technical Marketing career working at IBM Canada.
In September 1990, I moved to Toronto for a chance to get into Telecommuications which I found a fascinating field to work in. I completed a certificate in Telecommunications Management at Ryerson University while working in Marketing at Teleglobe Canada. After Teleglobe, I worked for Bell Canada and then AlStream (then Called AT&T Canada).
After working in Telecommunications/Marketing for 15 years, I felt the need for a real challenge. I resigned from my job as a Senior Data Product Manager at AT&T Canada to become a "Stay-at-home Mom". I have loved being "at home" with my daughter, Jennifer who is now 10. I am very involved in her life and have volunteered my time, energy and skills in various opportunities that have come my way.
My husband, daughter and I moved from Toronto to Peterborough in August, 2008. I immediately enrolled in the Web Site Design Certificate at Sir Stanford Fleming College. I completed the certificate in June 2010 and found it to be a great experience. I love web design and have wanted to be a Web Site Designer for many years now. At Fleming College, I learned everything from the fundamentals of design with XHTML, to Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
